About ACAPMA Australian Terminal Gate Prices powered by OPIS

As a service initiative, delivered as a part of your ACAPMA Membership, The ACAPMA Australian Terminal Gate Prices powered by OPIS website, adds further knowledge to your business and value to your membership.

The Australian Terminal Gate Prices powered by OPIS provides you with the posted Terminal Gate Prices from every major wholesale supplier at every seaboard terminal across the country, as well as a calculated OPIS ACAPMA Benchmark Price, or International Parity Price Benchmark, for refined products shipped to Australia.

Under Trade Practice (Industry Codes - Oil Code) Regulations 2006, wholesale suppliers must make their TGP publicly available, OPIS and ACAPMA are gathering this information and collating it into a single website. This power to compare prices by supplier and location on a national scale is only available to ACAPMA Members.

The OPIS ACAPMA Benchmark Price is a calculation estimating the wholesale market price for a refined product at a terminal comparable to the cost of importing fuel into that terminal. The ability to relate a wholesale supplier’s TGP against a benchmark delivered price is an advantage only ACAPMA Members can have.

The ACAPMA and OPIS Teams hope you find this new initiative informative and valuable to your business.

About ACAPMA and OPIS

The Australasian Convenience and Petroleum Marketers Association (ACAPMA) is a key participant in the downstream petroleum industry. ACAPMA is the leading association and national peak body responsible for the development and growth of the petroleum distribution and petrol convenience retail industries. ACAPMA Members include over 90 per cent of the 120 businesses that operate in petroleum distribution and storage, while representing - through direct ownership, operation or supply - over 3,500 of the 6,600 service stations in Australia.

ACAPMA’s membership profile in the main is independent small-to-medium businesses operating in regional and rural Australia.
OPIS is a US based company that publishes rack and spot prices, which nearly 100 billion gallons of fuel are pegged to annually throughout several countries.

OPIS is relied on as the benchmark because OPIS remains completely unbiased and independent. OPIS has no stake in fuel transactions, is not funded by oil industry initiatives, and strictly adheres to antitrust guidelines determined by independent legal counsel.

OPIS Benchmarks are relied on by:

  • Every major and independent oil company.
  • Jobbers, dealers, c-stores and retail service stations.
  • Nearly every major metropolitan transit authority, school, utility, and railroad system in multiple countries.
  • Most commercial airlines, truckstops and fleets.
  • Federal, state, municipal and county government including the U.S. military.
